Assessment of Eight Faba Bean (Vicia faba L.) Cultivars for Drought Stress Tolerance through Molecular, Morphological, and Physiochemical Parameters

Determining and improving drought-tolerant cultivars is a major goal of plant breeding to face climate change. The productivity faba bean in Egypt affected by abiotic stresses, especially drought stress. This study evaluated eight Egyptian for tolerance under three soil water regimes consisting well-watered (100% field capacity), moderate stress (50% severe (25% capacity) pots greenhouse conditions using biochemical, physiochemical, molecular parameters. Nubariya 1, 3, Giza 716 showed the highest proline content values 50% capacity conditions, with 4.94, 4.39, 4.26 mmol/g fresh weights, respectively. On other hand, Sakha 4, 3 exhibited contents (7.8, 7.53, 6.17, 6.25, respectively) 25% treatment. profiling was conducted SCoT SRAP approaches.
